The Journey Within Spiritualist Church has taken on the project of restoring the historic Hydesville Schoolhouse located close to the historic Fox family's cabin. The spirit communication events that took place in the Fox sisters family home in Hydesville in 1849 are widely recognized as one of the major catalysts that birthed Modern Spiritualism. Reverend Janet Nohavec has spearheaded the plan to preserve the Hydesville Schoolhouse and transform it into a healing center and Temple of Peace.
